It is recommended that you use the default room names vs. customized room names in the MusicCast app, as the default room names may be more easily recognized. If the default room names conflict with the names of other smart devices in your home, it may be necessary to modify the names of the other devices. If you get a Chromecast audio you can make that an input on your am and make a group with other Chromecast speakers. To find your Wi-Fi compatible devices, the MusicCast app needs to access this Android device's location info. This app doesn’t collect your location using GPS. My mate has done something similar with Sonos but I am happy with Yamaha gear and like the idea of my existing bluetooth speakers playing nicely with the system. I've had Yamaha recievers for years and updated them several times.
You can recall favorites or playlists that you have set up in the MusicCast app. Take a few minutes to set up the ones you use most often. If necessary, add the device to the group and complete the setup. Follow the app instructions to detect the device and connect to Alexa.

Make sure your mobile phone or tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast Audio or speaker with Chromecast built-in. Make sure you're not running "Power Saving Mode" on your Android device. This can limit the processing power of your device which could affect the performance of the Cast Audio feature. Connect an audio cable between Echo Dot and an analog input on a MusicCast device.
The current MusicCast UI is by far the best and visually pleasing. As with most Yamaha AV products MusicCast allows you to tweek the smallest of details. The only thing it doesn't allow is changing DSP parameters ( reverb, delay, ect.) This must be done with the AV remote. Previous MusicCast apps allowed this. The application uses Wi-Fi function on your mobile terminal for the purpose of operating network-enabled devices.
